In the 1940s, uavs were used to train anti aircraft gunners during World War II. In 1945, after the Second World War, the conversion of surplus or retired aircraft into special research or target aircraft became the first modern trend in the use of drones. With the development of electronic technology, unmanned aerial vehicles (uavs) begin to show their flexibility and importance in the role of reconnaissance. In the 1955-74 Vietnam War, the Gulf War and even NATO air strikes in Yugoslavia, drones were frequently used for military missions. In 1982 IAI pioneered the use of drones for military missions in other roles. During the Galilee Peace Operation (Lebanon War) , the Scout UAV system played a significant combat role in the service of the Israeli army and the Israeli air force. The Israel Defense Forces uses drones for reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, tracking, and communications.
